To print Readme.txt, open it in Notepad or another word processor, then use the Print command on the File menu. Installing Eco Lumen Please read EcoLumenFreeware-Disclaimer.txt before installing the software. 1. Close all other applications. 2. Run the setup.exe on the CD under the folder EcoLumenFreeware 3. Install the program The Setup program prompts you through the installation process. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen. Key Features of Eco Lumen 2.00 (FreeWare) Basic features of the 'Eco Lumen' 1. Calculation of the number of luminaires, Annual energy consumption & Project cost estimation. 2. Provides lighting design layout, with the colour coding for double illumination level. 3. Database Maintenance Screens for maintaining database of 1) Lamps & Chokes 2) Luminaires details & Utilisation factors table. 3) Illumination level 4) Building types & Maintenance factors. 4. Report generation module including cost estimation. 5. Feature for upgrade evaluation :- After doing the calculations for particular room user can use the Upgrade option for accepting current room parameters & number & type of existing fittings. User can either select the upgrade option from the default options or enter a new upgrade of his own. O/P will be a comparative analysis based on the investment required & savings achieved by the proposed solution against the present one. Significant improvements in 'Eco Lumen' version 2.00 1. Improved GUI, with user attractive buttons & friendly interface. 2. Changing the UF table to IESNA (Illumination Engineering Society of North America) specified photometric format, for greater usability. 3. Optimization of layout drawing module for faster layouts. Limitations in Eco Lumen 2.00 (FreeWare) 1. In the new GUI there is no provision for menubar. 2. Option for deleting entire building data is not provided . 3. The version is based on the Lumen Method for lighting calculations & does not provide the user any inputs on the lighting quality of the layouts provided apart from the front view & side view with the light distribution diagram. 4. In upgrade report, legends of the Comparison graphs are slightly out of place. 5. Print facility is not provided in the version. 6. In calculations Room dimensions are restricted to 8m,5m and 5m (Or 26feet, 16feet and 16feet) for length, Width and height respectively. 7. Add New, Upgrade or Delete facilities on database maintenance screens for is not available. Errata 1. On the Upgrade Evaluation comparison screen, there is a typographical error in the title of the chart 'Lifecycle Cost' :- (InvestMent) which should be spelt as (Investment) 2. On the Report Screen, the Report Details Section shows the Unit of 'Specific Energy Consumption' as (kw/sq.mt) which should be (Wh/sq.mt.) and the Unit of 'Light Power Density' as (kw/sq.mt) which should be (w/sq.mt.)
