  • Recognized as a “Legend in Energy” by Association of Energy Engineers at the 30th World Energy Engineering Congress held in Atlanta in 2007.

2006

  • Herbert Toor Award for best student paper in qualifying exams for Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University for year 2005-06.
  • Received IET Postgraduate Scholarship awarded by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) for year 2006-07
  • First Prize in the Write Around the World paper writing competition organized by the Institution of Engineering and Technology for a paper titled "Asteroid Impact: Are we prepared".
  • Selected for Insight Engineering and Science workshop by McKinsey & Company in 2006.

  • Received DEED (Demonstration of Energy Efficiency Development) Research Scholarship from American Public Power Association for research on “Electric Energy Storage Applications for Public Power Utilities” (2005-06).

  • Won the innovators award for proposing idea of a energy efficient lighting design software from Tata Infotech
